My Ankle Twist and Plaster (Cast) on 16th May 25

It was a sad incident on 16th May 2025 when I had a severe ankle twist. Though I had ankle twist many times in my entire life but this was very severe. Today, here, I will narrate a complete events related to this day.

Since, my wife also had an accident on 25th April 25 and had fracture upper end of Tibia bone which is just below the knee thus my mother-in-law along with my son were coming by train from Prayagraj. My son Mr Abhiraj Singh has completed his examination at Gwalior IITTM BBA First year.

Abhiraj Singh did not know about the accident of his mother as he had exam and we did not let him know about this accident. We did this deliberately as he was undergoing exam those days. Anyway, I will explain about this story of wife’s accident separately.

So, this was Friday on 16th May’25. My office driver arrived at home and I asked him to park his vehicle as we planned to go to railway station on our own vehicle being personal journey. Both were coming from Prayagraj on Unchahar Express 14217 on 2AC coach.

We arrived near Chandigarh Railway Station little early i.e. by 8:50 AM but train was still behind Ambala that was about more than 1 hour delay. So, I had to pass some time and my driver Mr Aamin suggested to visit Sai Temple which was nearby. I went to visit temple and passed 20 to 25 minutes there. Came back to Railway station by 9:30AM and decided to go inside by parking vehicle in parking.

Since train was coming on plateform 5 so we went there and kept waiting and by this time, I knew train has left Amabla and approaching Chandigarh. I had already asked my son to share the live location on WhatsApp so it was live update for me. But LIVE update was not updating properly, mostly it was delayed by 10-12 minutes. Suddenly, I saw that a train arrived in plateform number 6 which was opposite to plateform number 5 and board on the train was written that train was coming from Payagraj Sangam. So, I rushed to other plateform as I was waiting for this train. But when I arrived on platefrom it was told by passengers that this train is coming from Lucknow and it is Sadbhavna Express. So, the displayed information on train coaches was wrong.

After about 30 minutes Unchahar Express arrived on plateform number 5 and when train stopped then we approached coach number A2 and my son and mother-in-law appeared. I received them anlongwith 2 bags. Me alongwith my driver went inside coach to bring all other bags. One bag was very heavy as it carried food items from Prayagraj which my mother-in-law prefers to eat organic items.

Suddenly, I had feeling to pee so I decided to go inside train and pee as there was no washroom in whole plateform. But due construction activity on platefrom there was uneven surface 1 feet before train on platefrom. Since I was looking towards our son where bags were kept so I did not notice the unevenness of surface and my ankle got twisted. I felt extreme pain instantly and my mind lost everything and became unconscious. I was about to fall on ground but I managed to stand somehow. I could not move properly now. With lot of effort I went to bench nearby and sat there. Then. I saw lot of swelling on my ankle with severe pain. By this time, I knew something big happened to my ankle.

I called RailTel official to help me go out of plateform and going to parking lot where my vehicle was parked. All the luggage was carried by my son and the driver. RailTel officials arranged a motorcycle and I sat on that to get out of the plateform. This platefrom neither had any lift nor an escalator so I have to arrange this to go out from here. Finally, got on my car with all others. Thanks to Mr Alok, an officer of RailTel and his associate who has helped me at my difficult time at Chandigarh Railway Station.

Immediate Visit to Panel Orthopedic Dr Aseem Goyal Sector 27

Immediately, I have asked my driver to go to our office panel orthopedic Dr Aseem Goyal whose clinic was on the way to our residence. Doctor was surprised to see me in this state as I used to visit him frequently for my wife fracture treatment. Shown my foot to him and narrated the complete incident. He asked his assistant to take X-Ray of Ankle.

On X-Ray doctor told there in hairline fracture in bone near ankle. He suggested that you can keep like this and apply ointment but no load on foot for atleast 2 weeks OR better to apply cast (plaster). It will take 3 weeks to heal. If anything goes against then operation is the only solution. So, I choose to apply cast and take rest so that recovery will be faster.

After doctor visit we were coming to residence while my wife did not know about this incident. When she called us, I told her about this and she started crying. I consoled her and asked to keep quit as such incident are part of life and they will eventually in few weeks. I called my senior to my office and he very cooperative officer and I don’t words to praise about him. Anyway, asked me take rest.

Finally today 17th May 2025, I am writing this to share the complete incident. My night was good as I had good sleep as usual. I had difficult time as I can not use my affected leg anymore for daily chore. But, anyway it will be ok in few days. Lets wait !! Bye for today.
